Prisoner Series

"In a world forever altered by the mysterious destruction of power plants, five years have passed since civilization crumbled. Amid the chaos, Zoey discovers an inexplicable connection to a young woman, comatose and imprisoned, who holds the key to secrets beyond her imagination. As Zoey navigates this shattered reality, she learns that their bond is just the beginning of a deeper mystery—one that intertwines their fates with others who share a similar connection. Together, they must unravel the truth of their entwined destinies and confront the forces that threaten to keep them apart."

About Me?

Well it hasn’t been boring I can tell you that!

These fictional novels were born out of a real-life experience. In 2011 I was an active-duty US Air Force combat meteorologist stationed at Ft. Bragg, now Ft. Liberty in N.C. My job was special forces meteorology and part of that job was jumping out of perfectly good airplanes! During an exercise airborne jump, as I stepped off the back of the aircraft, the static line connecting my parachute to the aircraft got hung up for only a split-second. At that moment, instead of deploying my parachute, I was violently jerked backwards with the plane, folding my body in half at the neck and hitting my chin on the D-ring attached to the reserve chute on my chest. That hit broke my jaw, shattered my teeth, left me with vertical double vision, a traumatic brain injury, and ripped the muscles down my spine. The concussion and whiplash left me alone in the dark over the course of the next several months.

Light and sound were excruciating and disorienting, often leaving me to wake up in random areas of my home, unable to remember how or when I'd ended up there. During those months (and at times still to this day), I had extreme short term memory issues. I had a great fear that I'd lose the memories of my life and children. My mother told me after calling her multiple times in one day, repeating the same information again and again, that I should write down my thoughts. At first I thought that would be an impossible task for my brain. However, it turned out that although I was unable to take information into my brain, I was blissfully able to export information from my mind with minimal pain.

About a year later I found multiple files on my computer I had no recollection of writing. I knew, however, that they were mine as they were experiences I was having during those lost months.

One of those writings became Chapter 2 in my first fictional novel, Glass Prison. I never intended to publish, only writing for the sake of enjoyment (and a bit of therapy!).

Over the next ten years I added to the storyline of that one chapter and eventually brought a whole new world to life!
